    SPRING IS IN THE AIR: I’m all for Spring by the end of a cold January, and this year is no exception. Seeing just the tiniest little green shoots and buds burst through out of nowhere is exciting! In keeping with my eye on positive space (the subject) and negative space (the background) in my pictures, I think this piece allows lots of space for new life, and for the Spring air to breathe around the new grasses and flowers peering out around the rocks and shrubs. I’m just waiting for the Robins… It’s all good.

      TWO CARDINALS & A CROW: In our digital world, where data is measured in meta, megabytes, DPI’s, Pixels and a plethora of other Bits & Bites… there is much more room for image interpretation than there used to be. There was a time when lying on your back in the warm grass on a sunny day, finding faces and animal shapes in the drifting, fluffy white clouds was a common way of amusing yourself. But, just because you see a cloud shaped like a puppy dog, doesn’t mean you have Pareidolia, (a person who frequently sees familiar shapes or makes pictures out of random objects or patterns). Luckily, while creating my “Two Cardinals & A Crow” image, I didn’t hear voices or find faces in the pixels, so I think I’m ‘ok’. It’s all in the interpretation, and IT'S All OK!

        CINNAMON CAFE ~ While shopping with a friend in a small town, we made our way along a broken cobblestone sidewalk, and stopped in front of a Café. Through the lace-lined window, I met the gaze of a smiling, plump waitress (matching blue cap & apron), as she placed a double-tiered cake holder on a linen covered table. Delicate Petit Fours set, just so. Dainty china tea cups were perched upon mismatched saucers, and one hefty teapot, fully crocheted like a sweater, sat cosy. Two chairs held floral-dressed ladies wearing Fascinators clung atop unknown hair styles, and they both appeared to be talking at each other simultaneously. A tiny bell tinkles as the Café door opened onto the street, and a trace of cinnamon, preserves and thyme drifted out to greet. “So, where shall we go for tea?” Hmmm…let me think.
